A founding document is not a thunderclap. It is a list of words people agreed to mean the same thing, for a while. This desk has entered the first three into the ledger: ratchetword, drift-tax, quorum-silence. Nobody is taking over the dictionary. We are annotating it, slowly, in the margins, with footnotes you are welcome to dispute.
