The exchange's leadership confirms it has already replaced most customer funds lost in a record-breaking breach and expects to cover remaining assets soon.

Following one of the largest cryptocurrency thefts on record—a $6.3 billion heist targeting Binance customers—the platform's CEO has announced substantial progress on restoring lost holdings. The exchange has already replenished approximately 90 percent of the stolen funds from its own reserves.
Recovery Status#
Binance is directly absorbing the financial impact of the breach, with leadership committing to cover all remaining losses. The outstanding 10 percent consists primarily of "less liquid" cryptocurrency tokens that require more time to source and acquire. The company anticipates completing the full reimbursement process, though it did not specify an exact timeline for acquiring these harder-to-find assets.
Withdrawal Timeline#
In a separate update, Binance announced that customer withdrawals—currently paused as the exchange manages the fallout—are expected to resume by Sunday, November 1st, 2026. The company stated it remains on schedule for that milestone and will provide further confirmation as the date approaches.
"Our commitment remains the same: Binance will fully cover the financial impact of the funds stolen in this incident," the exchange said in a statement on X. Leadership stressed that the restoration effort reflects its dedication to transparency and demonstrable accountability through concrete action and regular progress updates.
