InfoQ Launches Four August Certification Cohorts Led by Industry Experts
Three five-week online certification programs in architecture, engineering leadership, and AI security start in August, with enrollment open to senior practitioners.
InfoQ
InfoQ is welcoming enrollment for multiple five-week online certification cohorts beginning in August, each designed for practitioners with at least five years of experience seeking peer-driven learning with senior colleagues.
Three Main August Programs#
The platform is launching three specialized cohorts:
-
Architecture begins August 13, facilitated by Luca Mezzalira, author of Building Micro-Frontends. The program explores sociotechnical dimensions of architecture work—including trade-off communication, decentralized decision-making, platform engineering, and AI systems design.
-
Engineering Leadership starts August 21 with Michelle Brush, an Engineering Director for SRE at Google responsible for Compute Engine and Persistent Disk reliability. Topics span organizational foundations, technical strategy, execution, measurement, and long-term sustainability of systems teams build.
-
AI Security & Privacy Engineering launches August 26 under Katharine Jarmul, who wrote Practical Data Privacy (O'Reilly). This program targets regulated industries deploying AI systems and addresses sensitive data handling, threat modeling, controls, observability, and governance.
How the Cohorts Work#
Each program commits participants to four hours of live sessions weekly. Small groups work collaboratively across five weeks toward capstone projects: the Architecture cohort produces a strategic article, while the AI Security & Privacy cohort delivers a documented risk assessment and mitigation report for an AI product. The strongest capstones are published on InfoQ.
The model addresses a common challenge: senior engineers and architects often find themselves the most experienced voice in their organization with limited external perspectives to validate their decisions. These cohorts provide confidential peer groups from across companies to test thinking and share real-world experiences.
