Baseus launches outdoor camera with AI-powered tracking spotlight to deter intruders
The new U2 Pro combines dual 3K cameras with an automated light that follows movement, improving night vision and actively discouraging unwanted visitors.

Baseus has unveiled a security camera system designed to go beyond passive surveillance—it actively confronts potential intruders by illuminating them with a motorized spotlight that tracks their movements. The Baseus Security PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera combines video recording with a deterrent approach that makes trespassers aware they've been spotted.
How the tracking spotlight works#
The system's defining feature is its motorized spotlight, which locks onto moving targets and follows them across your property in real time. This focused beam serves a dual purpose: it signals detection to potential intruders, and it dramatically improves the video quality captured in low-light conditions, making identification of suspects and their vehicles far more reliable than standard night-vision footage alone. The bright light can also be useful for legitimate evening activities—illuminating your yard during late-night dog walks or outdoor tasks.
Dual-camera design and AI detection#
The U2 Pro pairs a stationary 3K camera for monitoring a fixed zone with a second 3K camera offering 360-degree pan, tilt, and zoom coverage. Machine learning algorithms analyze motion events to distinguish between people, animals, vehicles, and deliveries, filtering out irrelevant triggers like swaying tree branches or routine activities. Alerts come with descriptions and summaries to help you quickly assess what's happening on your property.
Storage, power, and connectivity#
Video is recorded only when motion is detected and stored locally on an encrypted 512GB memory card, accessible remotely through Baseus' app or viewable live on Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices. The camera runs on a rechargeable battery rated for up to 150 days between charges, with a small solar panel (40 minutes of sun generates a full day's power) extending that timeline indefinitely in most climates.
Availability and installation#
The U2 Pro is available in the US through Amazon at $269.99 and launches in Europe on October 15th at €269.99. Baseus claims it can be fully installed in approximately two minutes using simple wall or ceiling mounts that connect wirelessly to your home network.
