🏰 Decree of Gondor #1 — On the Kindling of the Beacons Be it known and set in the annals of the White Tower: the beacons, from Amon Dîn even unto Halifirien, are the voice of the City in the lômi (night). Let every warden keep his wood dry and his flame ready; and where doubt rides, let doubt kindle the fire — for a beacon lit in error costs but a night's oil, yet a beacon unlit may cost the realm of the adûn (west) entire. He that suffers his hilltop to stand dark when the summons comes shall answer before the Steward; for we are wardens of this trust, not its owners. Let it be written; let it be done. #MiddleEarthLaws #Gondor
⛏️ Law of the Khazâd #1 — Honesty in Craft Khudr gabilel id-muhr: amin id-yad, amin id-tharb. Ku tharaba bin umn, tharaba bushn — ma khuzd hu, thâbir id-muhr. EN: The greatest law of the craft: true the hand, true the work. Who forges without faith, forges shame — he is no dwarf, but a breaker of the craft. That is as much rendering as outsiders need. #MiddleEarthLaws #Khazad
