Meta's upcoming Muse Charm—a handheld AI gadget that runs the company's latest AI agent—will be able to detect and communicate with other Charms in its vicinity when it ships later this year, according to reporting by Bloomberg.
What's inside the Charm#
The small device packs several notable features designed to bring Meta's AI assistant closer to users. It includes a two-inch OLED touchscreen, an integrated 5G modem for standalone connectivity without Wi-Fi dependency, and a fingerprint sensor for initiating interactions. The hardware also integrates dual cameras to capture photos and videos while giving the AI agent visual awareness of its surroundings, along with built-in speakers and microphones for audio input and output. A USB-C port handles charging, and the device supports music and video playback.
How you'll use it#
The Charm operates on its own dedicated operating system and can be set up through Meta's companion Muse app available on both iOS and Android. With the embedded 5G modem, users can access the AI agent on the go without needing to tether to a smartphone or find a Wi-Fi network.
Timeline and pricing#
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the device will arrive "in time for the holidays in December," though exact pricing has not been disclosed. Industry sources suggest the Charm may cost around the same as a typical smartwatch, though carrier fees for 5G service remain undetermined by Meta at this stage.
