Meta's Muse Charm brings AI agent to keychain-sized wearable device
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a palm-sized wearable designed to offer always-on access to the company's personal AI assistant, launching in December.

Meta has entered the crowded field of AI wearables with the Muse Charm, a compact totem-like device designed to serve as a physical touchpoint for the company's increasingly popular Muse personal AI agent. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the product during Meta's annual Connect event, positioning it as a novel way for users to interact with AI without reaching for their phones.
What the device does#
The Muse Charm fits in a pocket or clips to a keychain and displays a small digital avatar — internally known as Jolly — representing the Muse AI agent. Users can tap a fingerprint sensor on the device to activate voice communication with the assistant, which handles tasks on their behalf. The wearable runs Meta's full Muse experience, including real-time voice interaction and the avatar interface, all compressed into a minimal footprint.
Why Meta built it#
The gadget channels the nostalgic appeal of a digital pet or Tamagotchi, creating a low-stakes entry point for the company to explore AI wearables. By packaging the Muse agent into a portable, tactile form factor, Meta offers users another avenue to engage with its AI software while testing the viability of physical AI companions — a category that has drawn mixed reactions from consumers, with devices like Friend becoming targets of skepticism.
Timing and availability#
Zuckerberg indicated the Muse Charm is still in final development, with the team completing hardware refinements before production. The devices are scheduled to arrive in time for the December holiday season. For users without AR glasses, Zuckerberg suggested the wearable would be the quickest way to access Muse's capabilities and demonstrate the world around them to the AI.
