OpenAI Installs Wiz Executive as CRO Amid Broader Leadership Overhaul
The frontier AI lab has brought in Dali Rajic from Google-acquired Wiz to lead sales efforts as departures reshape its top ranks.

OpenAI has appointed Dali Rajic, the former president and chief operating officer of Wiz, to serve as its new chief revenue officer. The appointment replaces Denise Dresser, who held the role for less than a year.
Leadership Turnover Accelerates#
The hiring is part of a recent wave of executive departures at the company. In the past month alone, OpenAI has seen the exits of COO Brad Lightcap and Fidji Simo, who held the position of CEO for AGI deployment and was the company's number-two executive. In response to these changes, co-founder and president Greg Brockman has expanded his management responsibilities.
Rajic arrives from Wiz, a cybersecurity company that Google acquired for $32 billion in 2026—the tech giant's largest purchase to date.
Shifting Priorities on Revenue#
In announcing the transition, Brockman acknowledged that the organization is moving swiftly in how it deploys its technology. "Dali will turn what we've learned into repeatable execution as we build out the full system to make AI broadly useful for people and businesses," he wrote on the company's blog.
The timing suggests OpenAI is working to tighten its commercial operations. Despite the company's massive reach—serving more than one billion weekly active users and working with two million businesses—some executives have indicated privately and publicly that revenue targets remain unmet.
Public Markets on the Horizon#
The shakeup occurs as OpenAI prepares for a potential initial public offering. The company has already filed confidentially with the SEC and recently executed a $7 billion share tender offer for employees, allowing staff to monetize portions of their equity holdings. Such moves typically signal companies are building stronger executive benches ahead of going public.
CEO Sam Altman has increasingly stressed a focus on enterprise deployments this year, scaling back experimental research that could compete for attention with commercial priorities.
