Meta launches AI-centric subscription tiers to monetize creative tools
A new tiered subscription service across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp bundles AI image and video generation with premium features, targeting both casual users and businesses seeking advanced capabilities.
TechCrunch — AI
Meta has unveiled Meta One, a fresh subscription framework designed to capitalize on its proprietary AI capabilities by offering expanded access to creative tools across its social platforms. The service bundles AI-powered features—including image and video generation via Muse, Instagram's Restyle editing tool, and voice effects—with premium social features in a multi-tier structure.
Consumer Plans: Core and Premium#
For individual users, Meta is rolling out two tiers. The Core plan ($7.99/month) includes all benefits from the existing Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus, and WhatsApp Plus offerings, plus elevated AI usage caps for generating images and videos. The Premium plan ($19.99/month) goes further, lifting those AI usage limits even higher and unlocking more frequent access to creative editing and effects.
Both plans bundle standard perks like profile customizations, enhanced story insights, and super reactions—features Meta introduced across its apps in March 2026.
Business and Creator Offerings#
A separate tier serves creators and businesses with four options ranging from Essential ($14.99+/month) to Max ($499+/month). The Essential plan provides foundational business tools: presence management, expanded Meta Business Agent responses for customer service, WhatsApp Business verification, and impersonation detection.
The Advanced tier ($49.99+/month) layers on scheduling capabilities (stories up to 30 days ahead), link support in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience segmentation, multi-user account access, and additional Business Agent capacity. Both Essential and Advanced include new profile enhancements showcasing websites, locations, and reviews—along with a prominent follow button and automatic follow invitations.
Expert and Max plans scale up further with maximum feature access and Business Agent capacity to handle enterprise-level operations. Meta plans to add more agent capabilities later, covering areas like end-to-end marketing, content optimization, and business operations. An upcoming Edits Plus add-on will extend the framework to the company's content-creation app with cloud sync and AI-assistant features.
