BirdBuddy Pro smart bird feeder discounted to $168 during Prime Day
The camera-equipped bird feeder with AI recognition has become an unexpected Prime Day hit as the company prepares to launch new models.

The BirdBuddy Pro with Solar Panels is getting a significant price cut during Prime Day, dropping from $299 to $168 on Amazon — and it's apparently struck a chord with shoppers looking for a smart gadget that's actually useful in the yard.
The device combines a 5-megapixel camera with solar charging and AI-powered bird identification. Every visiting bird gets photographed and identified, with facts delivered via companion app. At its full retail price, the feeder is a tough sell — it's essentially a video doorbell glued to a bird feeder, and specialized features like species recognition are locked behind a subscription. But at the sale price, it becomes more accessible.
The sharp discount likely signals incoming product obsolescence. BirdBuddy announced new models at CES in January, including the BirdBuddy 2 (rotating camera, $199 retail) and BirdBuddy 2 Mini (smaller, no solar, $129 retail). Both are still working toward their launch dates, creating an inventory gap the Prime Day sale appears designed to fill.
The smart bird feeder market is getting crowded. Alternatives like the Coolfly Aura offer comparable features at similar prices, and budget options abound on Amazon — though few match BirdBuddy's overall polish.
