Mesh, Automattic's personal CRM, launches on Android with native features
The relationship manager app, acquired by WordPress owner Automattic, now offers Android users a tailored experience with widgets, split-screen support, and AI-powered networking tools.

Mesh, a personal relationship manager that Automattic acquired last year, has rolled out its Android app, bringing its contact and network management tools to mobile users. The service helps people organize and maintain their personal and professional connections through private notes, contact tracking, and smart reminders.
Android-first experience#
The Android version incorporates platform-native capabilities that make the app work seamlessly alongside other tools. Users can now run Mesh in split-screen mode or as a floating window while using email, messaging, or other apps. The app includes Material Design widgets that match your phone's wallpaper colors, keyboard shortcuts for foldable devices, built-in search, and automatic syncing across all your devices. The experience is optimized for both traditional phones and larger tablets.
Linking relationships across platforms#
Mesh is designed to work closely with Beeper, Automattic's unified messaging hub that consolidates conversations across WhatsApp, Instagram, Signal, Messenger, X, LinkedIn, and other platforms. The two apps already interoperate—Mesh users can compose messages through Beeper or jump directly to contact profiles through deep links. The company plans to deepen this integration over time, particularly around AI features that help people manage their relationships more effectively.
AI features in development#
The company is currently testing Nexus AI, an early-access feature that lets users query their network naturally—asking questions like "who do I know at Company X?" or "who has expertise in this topic?" Development is also underway for voice-based access and enhanced business card scanning powered by machine learning.
Mesh co-founder Zachary Hamed explained the motivation: "We're thinking a lot about how can AI help you be a better friend and have better work and personal relationships? We have users who have ten-, twenty-, or fifty-thousand connections across multiple social media apps. It's an impossible task to think and be conscientious with each of those people, by yourself."
Business model and audience#
Mesh remains free for up to 1,000 contacts, with paid tiers unlocking unlimited contacts and additional features—all supported by subscription rather than advertising. The company doesn't use personal data for ad targeting. About 70% of current users deploy Mesh for business purposes, particularly executives managing large teams or those with extensive professional networks. However, the founders emphasize that features serve both business and consumer use cases equally.
