Leaked Lenovo Googlebook designs show laptop and tablet with Gemini-focused interface
New images suggest Lenovo's upcoming Android-based devices will feature dedicated AI buttons and illuminated accents reminiscent of Google's design language.

Lenovo's forthcoming Googlebook models are starting to take shape. Press images obtained by Digital Citizen and Android Headlines provide the first detailed look at what the company's Android-powered devices might actually look like when they arrive later this year.
What the leaks reveal#
The leaked images showcase two form factors: a conventional laptop and a convertible 2-in-1 tablet. Both devices display Googlebook branding across their keyboards and sport distinctive design elements. Most notably, each model includes an illuminated strip or accent light — a design choice that echoes Google's own official renderings, with the tablet's glowing element positioned near its rear camera module. This parallels the camera bar styling expected on the upcoming Pixel 11 lineup.
The laptop variant appears to come in at least two display sizes, suggesting Lenovo is targeting multiple market segments with its debut Googlebook offering.
The Gemini button arrives on keyboards#
The most functional change visible in the leaked keyboards is a dedicated hardware key bearing Google's "G" logo. According to Digital Citizen, this serves as a shortcut to summon Gemini AI directly. The keyboards also retain a Quick Insert button (positioned where Caps Lock typically sits), a feature that Chromebooks began introducing in 2024 to access Gemini.
What's coming next#
Google unveiled the Googlebook initiative in May, positioning it as the successor to ChromeOS. Major manufacturers including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo have committed to releasing their first models by fall 2026. The new platform is expected to run a custom Android-based operating system with Gemini integration woven throughout the experience.
The Lenovo designs bear a resemblance to the company's existing Chromebook range, suggesting a fairly familiar aesthetic for users upgrading to Google's new platform.
