Meta Expands Muse AI Agent with Video Calls, Email Integration, and Smart Glasses Support
Meta is rapidly enhancing its Muse chatbot with video chat capabilities, dedicated email addresses, and plans to bring the AI agent to smart glasses.
The Verge
Meta is accelerating development of Muse, its AI agent that has already become a mobile breakout hit, rolling out a series of meaningful upgrades aimed at expanding how users can interact with the bot.
Video Conversations and Customization#
The company is introducing video calling as a new communication channel alongside Muse's existing text-based chat interface. Users will be able to converse with their personalized Muse avatar in real time over video, with control over the avatar's voice characteristics and appearance. A new Muse Realtime Avatar model will govern how the avatar animates and gestures during these interactions.
Email and Computer Integration#
Muse agents are receiving their own email addresses, enabling them to handle tasks autonomously and serve as a direct point of contact for communication. The recently launched Mac app is also gaining the ability to access and control your computer, broadening the scope of actions the agent can perform on your behalf.
Momentum and Future Plans#
Since its debut earlier this month, Muse has captured significant user interest, consistently ranking atop app store charts and reportedly accumulating more downloads than ChatGPT during its first two weeks on mobile. Meta is leveraging this early momentum to roll out features at a rapid cadence. Looking ahead, the company plans to deploy Muse on its smart glasses platform in coming months, enabling contextual conversations based on real-time visual input from the wearer's perspective.
