Google launches family-focused AI agent that learns and organizes for entire households
The tech giant's experimental CC tool brings personalized AI assistance to families, managing shared calendars, tasks, and daily schedules across multiple household members.
Ars Technica
Google is bringing its personalized AI assistant technology to families through a new experimental agent called CC. Developed through Google Labs, the tool extends the company's advantage in contextual AI — leveraging deep knowledge of users already embedded in its ecosystem — to coordinate household needs across up to six family members simultaneously.
What CC does#
CC functions as a shared digital household assistant with its own Google account, allowing each family member to interact with it independently. The agent draws from a variety of household information sources to stay informed and helpful. It accesses emails that users explicitly share with it, can receive content through email or Google Chat, and monitors a designated shared Google Drive folder where families can store invitations, documents, and other relevant materials.
Each morning, the system generates a "Your Day Ahead" email summarizing the day's schedule and updates on previous tasks. Beyond daily briefings, CC can manage shared calendars, send task reminders, and create documents based on household instructions that all family members can access.
Evolution from earlier concept#
CC builds on work Google previewed in 2025. The original iteration eventually evolved into Gemini's Daily Brief feature, which pulls from individual Google account data to surface actionable items and suggestions. The new version maintains that personalization foundation while extending it to family-scale coordination and planning.
