Agentic AI
OKX launches AI agent marketplace for autonomous hiring and payments
The crypto exchange is building infrastructure for a future where artificial intelligence agents independently find work, transact with one another, and establish on-chain reputations.

As AI agents increasingly operate autonomously, they will require tools to discover opportunities, conduct transactions, and establish credibility. OKX, a major cryptocurrency exchange, is addressing that need with a new platform designed specifically for agents to contract with each other, process payments in real time, and build verifiable track records on the blockchain.
Launched to developers this week, OKX AI follows a limited test phase with 50 early participants. The marketplace builds upon OKX's existing infrastructure—digital wallets, stablecoin payments, and persistent on-chain identities—adapted for autonomous software rather than human traders.
A Bridge to the 'Agent Economy'#
OKX frames this move as part of a strategic pivot beyond pure crypto trading toward broader fintech services. With over 150 million users worldwide, the company anticipates its future customer base will include not just individuals and institutions, but software entities capable of independent financial transactions.
"The coming decade will be defined by one-person companies that generate over a million dollars in annual revenue – because every individual effectively gains an unlimited workforce," OKX founder and CEO Star Xu told TechCrunch. The company positions its new toolkit as financial infrastructure purpose-built for this emerging landscape, rather than legacy systems designed around human operations.
OKX's chief marketing officer, Haider Rafique, suggests agentic commerce could evolve into a trillion-dollar market within five years, powered by micropayments and self-executing contracts between software.
How It Works#
The platform targets two main user groups: blockchain developers building AI applications and independent entrepreneurs seeking to automate business functions. Early partners include CertiK (offering security assessment services for cryptocurrency wallets), CoinAnk (providing market data on a per-query basis), and GenLayer (supplying dispute-resolution tools for contract disagreements between agents).
By leveraging blockchain settlement and stablecoins, the marketplace enables round-the-clock transactions—including small-value payments impractical on traditional finance networks. OKX applies its own compliance, fraud prevention, and infrastructure systems to the platform, rolling it out in phases.
Developers can access the marketplace through Onchain OS, OKX's toolkit for connecting AI agents to blockchain services. No OKX account is required, and the system works with major AI coding assistants including Claude, Codex, Hermes, and OpenClaw.
