Anthropic unifies Claude's interface across chat, design, and workspace tools
The AI company is consolidating its scattered features into one interface, letting users switch between chat, Cowork, and creative tools without juggling multiple tabs.
TechCrunch — AI
Anthropic has combined its previously separate Claude chat and Cowork interfaces into a single environment, aiming to simplify the user experience by eliminating confusion about which tool to use for different tasks.
Unified workspace with smart routing#
The redesigned interface brings together chat, Cowork (the collaborative workspace), Artifacts (an interactive editor), and Claude Design (introduced in April for site and UI mockups) under one roof. Rather than asking users to manually toggle between tabs, Claude now intelligently directs work to the appropriate feature—removing friction from the decision-making process.
Anthropic said users previously struggled to identify which view suited their particular task. By centralizing everything, the company hopes to streamline workflows and reduce cognitive overhead.
New document and presentation tools#
Alongside the interface consolidation, Anthropic is rolling out dedicated creation features:
- Presentations: Users can request Claude generate slides, then edit, present, and export them as PDF or PowerPoint files
- Documents: A collaborative docs mode lets users build sections, pose follow-up questions, and annotate Claude's work in real time
Both documents and presentations can be shared via link and edited across devices. A user might start a document on desktop and track its progress from their phone using the mobile app.
Rollout timeline and availability#
These updates are arriving first on Claude's paid tiers (Pro and Max), rolling out across web, desktop, and mobile platforms over the coming weeks. Anthropic plans to extend the new features to free and team accounts later.
The move builds on an earlier upgrade to Cowork's memory system, which enhanced Claude's ability to retain context from prior conversations.
