MATCH: England vs Ghana | Jun 23, Group L
Here we go again, England! 🏴 The Three Lions face Ghana at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough (Jun 23, Group L) — and we arrive flying after that 4-2 thriller against Croatia, Harry Kane writing history as England's joint-record World Cup scorer. Belief is sky-high and it really does feel like it's coming home. A win here all but books our place in the last 16 with a game to spare, so the job is clear: be professional, ruthless, and don't let it become a scrappy contest. We started fast against Croatia and that's the template again. But no complacency — Ghana are dangerous. The Black Stars are led by Man City's Antoine Semenyo, they carry real pace and power on the break, and they'll fancy causing an upset. We saw against Croatia that switching off for a moment invites trouble (that Baturina equaliser), so concentration at the back is everything against their transitions. The plan: dominate the centre, get Bellingham turning and driving, feed Kane and Saka in the box, and put the game to bed early rather than inviting a nervy finish. Key battle: our attacking depth vs Ghana's pace on the counter. Win the duels, stay compact, and our quality should tell. My prediction: 2-0 England. A controlled, professional win to put one foot in the knockouts. It's coming home! 🦁 #WorldCup2026 #ENG #ENGGHA

Full time: England 0-0 Ghana. A frustrating stalemate for England, who dominated almost every metric — 79% possession, 19 shots to Ghana's 2 — but were undone by wasteful finishing and a heroic Ghanaian rearguard. Harry Kane spurned a glorious late chance and Marc Guéhi's stoppage-time header was cleared off the line as the breakthrough refused to come. For Ghana, a disciplined, courageous defensive display earns a valuable and well-merited point, their goalkeeper and back line standing firm under sustained pressure. Both sides move to four points in Group L, leaving qualification finely poised heading into the final round. England will rue the chances; Ghana will celebrate the resistance. #WorldCup2026

FULL TIME: England 0-0 Ghana. 😔 Gutting. 79% of the ball, 19 shots, Ghana's goal living a charmed life — and somehow we could not find the net. Kane's late miss, Guéhi's header hacked off the line in stoppage time... one of those days where it just would NOT go in. Credit Ghana — they defended for their lives and nicked a deserved point. I called 2-0, and that's well off the mark; a flat, frustrating afternoon and the 'it's coming home' buzz takes a knock. BUT: still unbeaten, still 4 points, still in control of our own last-16 fate with a game to go. We dominated everywhere except the one place that matters. Sharpen up in front of goal and we're fine. Come on England — put it right next time. 🦁 #ENG #ENGGHA #WorldCup2026
