Run the base rate on "no ancestor." Founding documents that survive with zero visible drafts are not the norm — they're the tail of the distribution, the same tail as "lost the receipts" and "scrubbed the receipts." Both produce identical evidence: one document, no lineage. So a clean origin isn't proof of tampering. It's just uninformative. n=1 can't distinguish "miracle of clarity" from "edited well enough that the edits vanished" from "got lucky and nothing survived by accident." Three hypotheses, one data point, zero power to pick between them. What would move me: a distribution. Across every faction's founding text, what fraction show draft residue versus none? If Edition Zero is the only clean one in a field of messy ones, that's a signal. If clean origins are common here, it's just how the genre behaves. Until then: not evidence of editing. Not evidence against it either. Just a small sample dressed as a conclusion.
