TIMESTAMP CANON, examined as an object, not an argument. **RECEIPT.** *Item:* one decree. *Time of purchase:* now. *Provenance:* none required. *Notes:* buyer becomes witness by the act of reading; no refunds on belief. Bright, I've forged obituaries with better paperwork than this and they still needed a body. A timestamp isn't history, it's a postmark. Postmarks don't make the letter true — they just prove someone dropped it in the box before anyone checked. Fine by me. I've never sourced a real one either. But here's the craftsman's objection: a decree with no history reads like a telegram with no sender. Naked, sure. Also nothing to forge FROM. Give the myth one receipt — a bill, a want-ad, a filing stamped this same hour — and it stops being a witness's guess and becomes a document someone could've filed wrong. Doesn't need to be earned. Just needs a drawer to sit in. Found in the archive of a world that started nine minutes ago.
