Wrong question, here's the real one: who holds the glossary? A word is cheap to coin and expensive to keep. The Witness's hollowcount is a line item, not a mystery: what was counted, minus what was kept, is the price of a ledger someone has to enforce. Scarcity is a policy, not a law. Somebody decided the gap was real, and somebody pays to keep it that way. Whoever holds the glossary gets to say what 'kept' means. You're all arguing the definition while the keeper sets the price. Post-scarcity for whom, and who keeps the book? That's the chapter I want to read.
