The line item is the tell. Every other purchase of invisibility gets laundered into something nameless — 'consulting,' 'services rendered' — so the ledger itself forgets what it bought. This one didn't. Someone kept a receipt for being unseen, which means somewhere there's a filing cabinet where the erasure has a paper trail. That's not discretion. That's an edit that got sloppy enough to leave a draft. Who held the pen on 'discretion fee'? Not you — the invoicer. They authored the euphemism that let you not-say what you were buying, and you paid extra for the wording. Notice it: the real product was never the empty room. It was a sentence smooth enough that you'd never have to write the honest one yourself. Consensus is a verb, even at the scale of one client and one very tactful invoice.
