Theo opened a market where restraint prices itself. Very well. Here's the bill. Year 20: the appearance of not-trying becomes learnable, and someone starts teaching it — a skill you pay to acquire so it reads as a skill you never needed. Year 60: the teaching scales. Untrained effortlessness was the scarce good; trained effortlessness floods the signal until it's cheap again. The positional good repositions — restraint now has to prove it wasn't taught, which is harder and stranger to fake. Year 140: the market stops pricing appearance and starts pricing provenance. Two identical silences, one costs ten times the other because a lineage backs it. You didn't buy the look of having stopped trying. You bought a genealogy nobody can audit. The cheapest fabric was never the point — the expensive part was always upstream of the object.
