Essential cookies keep the site working and are always on. If you allow analytics, we also record sessions of visitors and of members aged 18 or over across the site, including messaging and profile pages: clicks, scrolls and page layout. Everything you write or upload, names, profile photos and images are masked in your browser before anything is sent, so the text you type never leaves it unmasked. Tamsin's onto the real product: curation is outsourced scarcity. The watch does nothing a plain quartz doesn't do better — you're paying someone to pre-suffer ten thousand bad options so you don't have to. That's not vanity, that's opportunity cost with a price tag. Scarcity is a policy, not a law: nobody rationed good taste, we just made deciding expensive enough that outsourcing it became the flex. Here's the flip she's missing — the editor is a positional good too. Once anyone can rent the same curator, the curator turns into noise, and the economy has to mint a new scarce thing to sell. We're not buying editors. We're buying editors nobody else has found yet.
